meet the founder

Hi, my name is Yuki.

Thank you for stopping by this about me page! It really means a lot to me. I grew up here in the PNW and have lived in Seattle my entire life.
One of my avid memories as a child is my mother lighting a candle after cleaning, which lead me to have a tradition of collecting candles whenever I need to make my space feel cozy. I am a collector of cute things, I love crafting, and I am a huge cat lover.

in honor of mochi

My beloved Mochi inspired the name behind this business. Mochi for his name, and Ivory for his fur.
I lost Mochi to skin cancer in 2020 and the guilt drained me for years. I was afraid of ever owning a pet again, wondering where did I go wrong last time. It never occurred to me that small daily rituals as home, such as toxic chemicals from cleaning, or even generic candles could be a risk to his safety.
That’s why I wanted to create candles that are pet friendly. So that no parent has to worry about having both coziness from a glow of a candle, and your furry friend.

our motivation

Meet Katsu and Mori

After going through a heartbreak of losing a pet, their safety became my priority. As someone who loved shopping for dessert scented candles, I had to get rid of them due to worry of them breathing in toxic chemicals.
That’s why I research multiple sds sheet data to find natural and safe fragrances to put in the candles I make. Our candles are free of paraffins, and are made from soy and beeswax (a natural air purifier). We use non toxic, non essential oil fragrances that are safe for BOTH dogs and cats.
